Stablilizer bar (rear) — removal and installation
1. Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle, support it securely on jack stands and remove the wheels.
2. Detach the stabilizer bar link-to-lower suspension arm bolt/nut (see illustration).

3 Stabilizer bar clamp mounting bolt/nuts
3. Detach the stabilizer bar link-to-stabilizer bar bolt/nut.
4. Remove the the stabilizer bar clamps and bushings.
Note: On some models, it may be necessary to remove the muffler to access the stabilizer bar clamp bolts.
5. Remove the stabilizer bar.
6. Inspect the clamp bushings and the link bushings. If they’re cracked or torn, replace them.
Note: When installing new bushings, the slit in the bushing should face the rear of the vehicle. Install the clamps in their original positions.
7. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fasteners to the torque values listed in this Chapter’s Specifications. Tighten the wheel lug nuts to the torque listed in the Tune-up and routine maintenance Specifications.
Note: Before tightening the stabilizer bar link-to-lower arm fasteners, raise the trailing arm with a floor jack until it is at normal ride height.
